Jacques du Plessis is a native of Pretoria. He attended the University of South Africa and the University of Pretoria before transferring to BYU in the USA. He started teaching Afrikaans in America in 1984, and established the Afrikaans program at BYU in 1985. This program is still active, and currently being taught by Barry Hornabrook. After finishing his PhD at Utah State in Instructional Technology, Jacques accepted a faculty postion at the University of Wisconsin, in Milwaukee, where he is presently teaching. |
